We visited GSB on a Sunday morning. The store is an independent bookstore, which is my favorite kind. They carry new books (not used), and a small assortment of additional products (tote bags, bookmarks, etc).
The bookstore is small so there’s not a super wide-ranging selection. I wouldn’t recommend going to GSB with a certain book in mind you’re trying to find. It’s better to go and browse and see what strikes your fancy.
In the half hour or so we were there, we found five books to buy for $94.32 including tax. One was an analysis of Snape, the Harry Potter character, by author Lorrie Kim. It was aptly named ‘Snape: The definitive analysis of Hogwarts's mysterious potions master’.
Go check GSB out. They’ve got a free book cart outside for a suggested small donation, plus sections inside to peruse.
Fantastic little bookstore. Staff is friendly and attentive.
I have been visiting Garcia Street Books since I was a child, and I love it just as much as an adult. It's a cozy local book shop with lovely staff, great selection and recommendations, and organized in a tidy and appealing way. If they don't have what you need in stock, they will offer to order it for you. Love this place.
I love this bookstore but it would be much better if the owner taught the staff to greet people when they came in. One staff was on their cell not talking to anyone and the other person gave no hello or eye contact. For a small neighborhood bookstore it didn’t feel nice.
Love this bookstore! Great variety of books and friendly staff.
Cute book store. I especially liked how thoughtfully it was arranged with ample space to sit and read as well. Also the big attraction is the cute pupper!
Love this place! So well organised and not overwhelming at all.
Lovely little bookstore. Wide collection, clean/quiet atmosphere, and friendly ladies running the store. There are a few comfy chairs too for reading.
Definitely coming back next time I'm looking for a new book!
